Worked for UCAR’s Cooperative Program for Operational Meteorology, Education and Training (COMET). Bore responsibility for all phases and aspects of multimedia computer-based learning development. Job duties also entailed high levels of involvement in many of UCAR’s organizational activities, including collaborative international projects, faculty training workshop planning and presentation, teleconference and videoconference-based training development, etc.

Served as dean-appointed intern in the Colorado Governor’s office. Assisted with development and early implementation of Governor Romer’s Educational Creativity Schools Initiative, a program to restructure and revitalize Colorado’s K-12 public school system.

Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors Environmental Health Review Award for Caring About Food Safety, a self-paced learning module covering the basics of food safety in the home. My role: flash and website development. Awarded September, 2010.

Award of Merit for interactive media at the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education Media Festival for Being Victorian, a site that introduces the early days of Victoria BC, circa 1858-1914. Awarded May, 2009.

American Meteorological Society’s Louis J. Batton Authors Award for “outstanding, newly published learning materials..that foster the understanding of atmospheric and related sciences in K-12 audiences.” This was awarded to UCAR/COMET for the Hurricane Strike! project, which I helped design and develop. Awarded January, 2004.

Gold award for interactive multimedia and Web graphics design given by Agricultural Communicators in Education, for my part in the design of Looking for Oregon’s Future: What is Sustainability? Awarded August, 2002.
